What to Ask Your Insurance Company
A quick call to the member services number on the back of your insurance card can answer all four of these questions.
Is Starling Health in your network?
Your plan can confirm that our Bronx office is covered under your specific policy.
Do you need a referral?
Some plans require a referral from your primary care doctor before a specialist visit or an imaging study.
Is pre-authorization required?
Advanced imaging such as MRI, CT, and nuclear studies often needs pre-authorization from your insurance company first.
What will you owe?
Ask about your co-pay, deductible, and co-insurance so there are no surprises on the day of your visit.
At Your Visit
What to Bring and What You Will Pay
Bring your insurance card and photo ID
Bring both to every visit. If your coverage changed since your last appointment, bring the newest card so we can update your record.
Co-pays are collected at the time of service
We accept credit cards and HSA/FSA cards at the front desk. You can also pay online or by phone at (718) 319-1610.
Payment plans are available
If a balance remains after your insurance pays, we can arrange an installment payment plan based on what you are able to pay.
Self-pay estimates
No insurance? Contact us for a cash-pay estimate on specific imaging or consultations. We aim to keep our self-pay rates fair and transparent.

No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. Starling Health offers a sliding fee discount program for uninsured and underinsured patients, based only on your household size and annual income — no asset checks, no credit history, and no questions about immigration status.
