MRI Scan

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive and painless test that uses a large magnetic field, radio waves, and a sophisticated computer system to create detailed images of different organs, tissues, and structures inside the body. It can be used for almost any part of the body, including the brain, spine, the soft tissue of joints, and even the inside of bones and blood vessels. It is frequently used for a variety of diagnostic purposes, such as to identify neurological problems, scan for breast cancer and other tumors, pinpoint orthopedic diseases and injuries, and to confirm vascular issues and heart disease.

Most MRI scanners are large tube-shaped machines that you lie inside during the scan. This type of imaging technique is radiation-free, meaning there is no risk of exposure to radiation during the scan.

CT Scan

A computed tomography (CT) scan is a painless imaging technique that uses multiple X-rays taken from different angles to create detailed, cross-sectional images of organs and tissues inside the body. This enables doctors to detect, diagnose, and pinpoint the source of pain, injury, or any abnormalities. CT scans are used to detect and diagnose a wide range of medical conditions including internal injuries, spinal problems, osteoporosis, infections, and diseases.

During a CT scan, you usually lie on your back on a bed that passes through the scanner, which consists of a ring that rotates around a small section of your body.

X-ray

X-ray is a non-invasive and painless imaging technique that’s used to identify and monitor a wide range of diseases and injuries, such as bone fractures, infections, and some forms of cancer. It works by passing small, highly controlled amounts of radiation through the body to capture the resulting shadows and reflections on a photographic plate. Digital X-rays are more advanced, cost-effective, and efficient, and use special X-ray-sensitive plates to directly capture data. Data is then instantly transferred to a computer system that produces the X-ray images.

Mammogram

A mammogram is an imaging technique used to create images of the breast. A 3D mammogram combines multiple breast X-rays to produce a three-dimensional picture of the breast. It provides clearer and more detailed images of the breast and is particularly useful for detecting any abnormalities in dense breast tissue.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging scan that works by transmitting high-frequency sound waves into the body to provide a detailed look at internal organs and structures. It produces real-time “moving” video images of organs and tissues, and can also monitor fetal health and development during pregnancy. This type of imaging tool may be used to locate tumors and growths, detect blocked arteries, diagnose vascular problems and identify problems in organs such as the kidneys, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, prostate, and testicles.

Bone Density Scans

Dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) bone density scans are simple, quick, and noninvasive imaging scans that are used to assess a patient’s risk of developing osteoporosis-related fractures. They use a very low dose of ionizing radiation DEXA to create images of the body and identify signs of low bone mass. This allows osteoporosis and other bone-related problems to be detected and treated early.
